The Wampanoags were the Native Americans that attended the First Thanksgiving. 90 natives showed up of of 140 total people. Massasoit, the chief of the Wampanoags, signed a peace treaty with the pilgrims.
The pilgrims didn't call themselves pilgrims. They called themselves Englishmen. The pilgrims weren't so, innocent. Before the first thanksgiving, the pilgrims were already on the land. They infected the Wampanoags with the smallpox epidemic, they took in some Indians as slaves, and they also killed some of them. They also stole their crops.
