Comes from infected cows
Also from infected tools

WHAT'S THE CAUSE?
Comes from eating beef that has been infected
It gets infected when the cow had mad cow disease before death
Also comes from being exposed to infected human tissue
A few have developed it from contaminated instruments

AVOID EATING MEET THAT WAS CONTAMINATED

250-300 PEOPLE ANNUALLY GET THIS DISEASE

Is it fatal?
Yes, by the time you have been diagnosed it is usually too late
Almost everyone who has been diagnosed die.
Spread inSlovakia, Chile, Italy & among populations of Libyan
Spread to these populations with Sephardic migrations expelled from Spain

Also called creudtzfeldt-Jakob disease
First described by German neurologist
Also founded by Alfonso Maria Jakob, giving it the name
In 2010, 400 people were killed with this disease

LIFE CYCLE
Gets into your brain cells and causes sponge-like holes in brain
If you we're cut by a surgical tool it begins where the cut took place and gets into brain
Takes up to 13 months to kill
Insomnia,depression, confusion, personality & behavioral changes
Once far enough you will begin to rapidly develop dementia

DIAGNOSES
Doctors don't really have a diagnosis for mad cow disease
Usually when they have diagnosed you, you are close to death
As it progresses the person rapidly develops dementia
Also develops involuntary jerking called myoclonus
