HABITAT

  • Tropical evergreen forests
  • Deciduous forests
  • Coniferous woodlands
  • Mangrove swamps
  • Thorn forests and grass jungles

  • Siberian tigers are found in eastern Russia
  • They also live in China
  • Some live in North Korea
  • None live in the U.S.

BEHAVIOR

  • They use their weight to knock prey to the ground and kills with a bite to the neck.
  • They are also very good swimmers.
  • Have been known to kill prey while swimming.
  • They are mainly active at night and less active during the mid-day heat.
  • Repeatedly enter water to cool themselves.

FOOD SOURCES

  • Siberian tigers are carnivores
  • They eat elk, deer
  • Wild boar, lynx, bear
  • Also eat fish, rabbits and small rodents
  • Wild boar makes up half of its diet

  • Siberian tigers are endangered
  • People want their fur
  • They also want their body parts
