HOW DO YOU GRAPH A LINEAR EQUATION

  • Locate the y-intercept on the graph and plot the point.
  • use the slope to find a second point and plot it.
  • Draw it

WHAT IS A SLOP OF A LINE

The slope is a measure of how the line angles away from the horizontal.

HOW DO YOU FIND THE SLOPE OF A LINE

  • Subtract the y-coordinate of the first point from the y-coordinate
  • Subtract the x-coordinate of the first point from the 2 x-coordinate
  • Write the two differences you calculated as a ratio with the difference of the y-coordinates

HOW DO YOU USE A SLOPE TO GRAPH AN EQUATION

TO DETERMINE IF IT IS POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE.

WHAT IS A SLOPE INTERCEPT FROM

  • y= mx +b.

WHAT IS DIRACT VARIATION

  • AN EQUATION OR FUNCTION EXPRESSING DIRECT VARIATION
  • Y=kx

WHAT IS CONSTANT PROPORTIONALITY

  • the constant value of the ratio of two proportional quantities x and y;
  • In mixing concrete from sand, water and powdered cement, the amount of each ingredients
