  • Oversees the court system of the U.S.
  • Explains the meaning of the constitution through court cases
  • Head is the Supreme Court

  • Bankruptcy policy
  • Reviewed by Supreme Court
  • Considered by Congress

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT

  • It helps maintain the law
  • Decides if laws are constitutional or not
  • Helps the country a lot

STATE ITS IN TODAY

  • The Judicial Branch is currently reviewing cases
  • Only will do stuff with 150 cases
  • A lot of cases will be submitted to await review,
  • but most will not be reviewed

HISTORY

  • Established in 1789
  • Judiciary act established three types of federal courts
  • One of the courts was the supreme court, with a chief justice
  • and five associate justices
