We will start with a small biography of the author. And relevant background information will be presented. This will be coupled with their knowledge of community gardens from the previous lesson.

STUDENTS WILL INFER SUBJECT MATTER OF THE BOOK SEED FOLKS.
Students will look at the cover and read the back cover seedfolks to guess what the book might be about. We will draw expectations and hopes for new reading.

We will read "from seed to seedfolks " to learn about the origins of Seedfolks.

INFERENCES LIST
Students will create a list of the inferences that they have made about Seedfolks. They will share with the class what they think the novel will be about after the reading and examining of the chapter and covers.
