  • MA rocky soil, winters are harsh, vast forests, and clean water.
  • RI local rivers, timber, and soil for good farming.
  • NY Valleys, rivers, farming, and the winters were cold and summers hot. 
  • PA Rich soil for farming, rivers, forests for timber, and minerals.
  • MD farming/planting, hot streaming summers, small farms, lumbering and fish

  • MA Grew crops and raised animals on farms, lumber, fishing, and trading.
  • RI Slave trading, raised livestock, traders, and grew foods.

  • PA many jobs, raised dairy cattle, farming, miners, lumbermen and merchant
  • MD many jobs, farming, raised cattle, lumber, shipping, and fishing

Goverment

  • MA Puritan men could only vote then all men could vote.
  • RI Most men could vote for the colony's governor.
  • NY governors appointed by the king were controlled by England.
  • PA All men who owned property could vote for members of the assembly.
  • MD only white men with property voted for members of the assembly.
