INTRO ON JACKIE

  • Jackie Robertson loved baseball
  • He always played little league with his friends
  • But one day someone decided to put Jackie with the Dodgers
  • The Brooklyn Dodgers manager accepted Jackie
  • And Jackie was exited to be playing big league baseball

THE DODGERS

  • Jackie was exited to meet his team
  • He was good at catching and throwing
  • He was a good out fielder
  • He was really good at stealing bases too
  • But some of the other teams were not that cool about it

BASE BALL WAS NOT EASY

  • People never cheered on Jackie
  • A lot of people wrote mean things to him
  • He wanted to just play baseball
  • One day peewee stood next to Jackie
  • Peewee helped Jackie find courage

MEMORIAL

  • To this day we remember the number 42
  • As we still remember Jackie Robertson
  • Who was the first black baseball player
  • And now no one else in the big leagues weares the number 42
