PRESENTATION OUTLINE

The Dallas World Aquarium was opened in 1992 in an old warehouse in the West End District. It has been a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums since 1997 and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums

PIED TAMARIN

SAGUINUS BICOLOR

  • They are white with black faces and are very small.
  • Pied tamarins help disperse fruit seeds after they eat the fruit. They eat fruit, flowers, insects and bird eggs.
  • They live in the tops of trees, mainly in rainforests.
  • These tiny animals are at risk due to deforestation.
  • Only the Alpha Female breeds.

CHRYSURUS ANGELFISH

POMACANTHUS CHRYSURUS

  • They're black with white striped and a yellow tail
  • Theyre hermaphroditic so they have the sexual organs of a male and a female
  • Found in reefs in Kenya
  • They are omnivores, and eat algae and shrimp
  • Also called goldtail angelfish

LINED SEAHORSE

HIPPOCAMPUS ERECTUS

  • Larger than most seahorses, look scaly and yellow.
  • They ambush prey by blending into their surroundings.
  • They are found in the Atlantic Ocean, where they eat crustaceans and shrimp.
  • They aren't endangered, but vulnerable. To stay still they wrap their tails around plants.
  • To reestablish the bond with their mate they perform a ritual dancd every morning.

I enjoyed the field trip because I love looking at animals and watching them in their natural habitat. It's good to see animals in their habitat so you can be more educated about them and care about conservation
