Our students will be prepared for middle school and beyond.
Goal 1
90% OF First Grade students will be proficient in Nonsense Word Fluency- Whole Words Read by June, 2015 as measure by Reading 3D/ DIBELS NWF-WWR.
Goal 2
85% of Second Graders will be proficient (87wrc/ min) in Oral Reading Fluency by June, 2015 as measure by Reading 3D/ DORF.
Goal 3
85% of Third Graders will be proficient (100 wrc/min) in Oral Reading Fluency by June, 2015 as measured by Reading 3D/DORF.
Strategies
Strategy 1- Using information from Reading 3D beginning of the year data in DIBELS Oral Reading Fluency we will strategically intervene with at-risk students.
Strategy 2- Teachers will incorporate fluency building activities into lesson plans weekly or more.
Strategy 3- The master schedule will be adjusted to provide guided reading time for intervention groups and enrichment groups.
Goal 4
85% of Fourth Graders will be proficient (135 wrc/min) in Oral Reading Fluency by June, 2015 as measure by AIMSWeb RCBM.
Goal 5
85% of Fifth Graders will be proficient (150> wrc/min) in Oral Reading Fluency by June, 2015 as measure by AIMSWeb RCBM.
Strategies
Strategy 1- Teachers will strategically intervene with students at risk in ORF.
Strategy 2- Teachers will incorporate fluency building activities into weekly lesson plans (choral reading, echo reading, repeated readings, etc.
Strategy 3- The master schedule will be adjusted to incorporate guided reading for intervention groups and enrichment groups.
Goal 6
Kindergarten will be 95% proficient (40>pc/min) in phoneme segmentation by June, 2015 as measured by Reading 3D/DIBELS PSF.
Strategies
Strategy 1- Using information from Reading 3D we will use beginning and middle of the year data in First Sound Fluency to strategically intervene with at risk students. Also, using information from Reading 3D we will use middle of the year data in phoneme segmentation Fluency to strategically intervene with at risk students.
Strategy 2- Adjust the master schedule to incorporate guided reading for intervention groups and enrichment groups.
Strategy 3- Teachers will include whole class lessons involving First Sound Fluency and Phoneme Segmentation Fluency.

89% of students at Mount Vernon- Ruth Elementary are white

School Report Card
- 72% scored at or above grade level in Reading
- 87% scored at or above grade level in Math
- 59% of all fifth graders made at or above grade level in Science.
- Last year 80% of all students at MVR were performing at grade level
Stakeholders
Parents, teachers, school board members, local business owners, and community leaders are all possible stakeholders in a school.
All of these people care about helping the school as a whole reach it's goals. Some ways that we can gather data from stakeholders is; surveys, Parent meetings and conferences, and pre and post tests.
