PRESENTATION OUTLINE
I IS FOR IQ
Ponyboy is the smartest out of the gang. He feels like an outsider and like he doesn't fit in sometimes because he is smarter than them. Also since he is smarter, it makes him an outsider because he doesn't really fit in with either the greasers or the Socs.
J IS FOR JOHNNY
Johnny is the kicked puppy in the group because he is so golden and quiet. He isn't golden anymore because he killed the soc. He is the second youngest of the gang, and he is kind of like an outsider like Johnny.
K IS FOR KINDNESS
Johnny and Ponyboy are probably the nicest of the group. But most of the group is mean and cocky. One reason they are nice is because they saved the kids from the church when they could have died.
L IS FOR LONELY
Ponyboy feels alone sometimes. He doesn't totally fit in with the group because he is smarter. Before he ran away with Johnny he also felt alone because Darry was tougher on him.
M IS FOR MONEY
Most all the greasers have less money. The Socs are rich and that is where the nicknames come from. Socs have fancy cars because they have more money and such and the greasers are more poor.
N IS FOR NOTORIOUS
Notorious means well known, usually for a bad deed. Dallas is notorious for going to jail. He is always getting in trouble and being taken to jail.
O IS FOR OUTSIDERS
Being an outsider means that you don't really fit in anywhere. Ponyboy is an outsider because he is too smart to be a greaser. But he doesn't have the wealth of a soc. Johnny is somewhat of an outsider because he is so quiet and doesn't fit in.
P IS FOR POOR
All greasers are poor. That is one of the reasons they are called greasers.
Q IS FOR QUIET
Johnny is really quiet. The gang calls him the kicked puppy. He usually keeps to him self. But he is dynamic because he changes and get louder and not so scared later in the book.
