OWLS ARE NOCTURNAL

THEY'RE ONLY ACTIVE AT NIGHT

OWLS ARE FANTASTIC HUNTERS

THEIR WINGS ARE SOFT AND FLUFFY SO THEY ARE SILENT WHEN THEY FLY.

OWLS HAVE BIG EYES

THAT HELP THEM SEE IN THE DARK

OWLS EYES REMAIN FIXED

BECAUSE THEY HAVE TOO MANY RODS

OWLS EYES LACK CONES

SO THEY SEE IN BLACK AND WHITE

ONE EAR IS HIGHER THAN THE OTHER

IT GIVES THEM 3 DIMENSIONAL HEARING

AN OWL'S CLAWS ARE CALLED

TALONS

THE FEATHERS AROUND THEIR LEG

PROTECTS THEM FROM THEIR PREY

THE OWL'S FEATHERS ARE REALLY SOFT

SO THEY'RE REALLY QUIET

AFTER THREE WEEKS

THE OWL CAN SWALLOW PREY WHOLE

AN OWL PELLET IS

ALL THE STUFF THE OWL CAN'T DIGEST

BARN OWLS EAT

VOLES, RATS, SHREWS, AND BIRDS

THE OWLS DONT LAY ALL THEIR EGGS AT ONCE

BECAUSE IF THEY DID, THERE WOULDN'T BE ENOUGH FOOD

IT IS IMPORTANT FOR OWLS TO FIND THEIR OWN TERRITORY

BECAUSE IF THEY STAYED, THEY WOULD EAT ALL OF THAT AREAS FOOD

BARN OWLS CAN LIVE UP TO TWENTY YEARS

BUT FEW LAST THIS LONG DO TO HARSH WEATHER AND SHORTAGE OF FOOD
