Leonardo had inventions on 13,000 pages of notes and drawings.

He did not see a divide between science and art.

Made drawings of fetus in utero, the heart and vascular system, and other bone and muscular structures. They were the first drawings on human record.

Leonardo studied anatomy, botany, geology, zoology, optics, aerodynamics, and hydrodynamics.

He dissected cadavers of criminals under inhumane, disgusting conditions.

Leonardo heralded the birth of a new method of scientific study: the systematic, descriptive method of the natural sciences. It was a predominant method of scientific study into the 19th century.
