What was it?
The wars of the roses was a power struggle between the houses of Lancaster and York.

It was a battle over who could claim the English throne.

Fun fact:

The current heir to the throne was King Henry VI. he was supported by the house of Lancaster.

The house of York saw him as a weak King.

It cause most of the battles in the renaissance time period.

The war ended with the death of King Richard III of the house of York.

It was ultimately Henry VII, the son of Henry VI, who over threw King Richard III and reclaimed the throne for the house of Lancaster.

The casualties of this war couldn't be determined by historians, because of the many lives lost to the Black Plague.
