When he found the piñata the Chinese made water buffaloes, oxen, and cows in colorful papers and put seeds, fruit, or candies wrapped in paper
In the 14th century, Marco Polo brought the piñata to Italy, where they used it during Lent
The first Sunday of Lent was called Pignatta Sunday, and piñatas play a huge roll in that
