  • Hunted buffalo, used every part
  • Learned to catch and breed horses
  • Painted pictures on buffalo hides
  • Had beautiful clothing and feather headdresses

NORTHWEST COAST NATIVE AMERICANS

  • Put totem poles in front of houses
  • Made dugout boats from cedar trees
  • Went on whale hunts
  • Hunted and fished
  • Traded fish, shells, furs, whale products, and more

  • Lived in large adobe cliff dwellings

  • Italian explorer, sailed for spain
  • Discovered the americas when he landed on San Salvador in 1492
  • Explored caribbean islands and thought he was exploring aisa

FERDINAND MAGELLAN

  • 1519-1522
  • Sailed for spain
  • Led the first expedition completely around The World
  • Named the Pacific Ocean because it was so beautiful
  • He was killed in the Philippines, but his crew finished the expedition
