ULCERATIVE COLITIS

• Is a chronic condition of the colon.
• The inflammation begins in the rectum and
• Extends up the colon in a continuous manner.

CAUSES

• No one knows what exactly causes ulcerative colitis
• It appears to be due to an interaction of many complex
• Factors.including genetics,impaired immune system response,
• And environmental triggers.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS

• Rectal bleeding,diarrhea,abdominal pain,
• Weight loss,fatigue,fever, and night sweats.

TREATMENTS

• Diet and nutrition
• Medications: anti-inflammatory,immune system suppressors,
• Pain relievers, and anti diarrheal.
• Surgery when necessary.
