PRESENTATION OUTLINE
A is for Absurd
Although this dystopia seems very far away from present day, it's really not that absurd. Entertainment is all over, iPads, television and video games. Also not thinking, we don't have to think about hardly anything, google it, or ask Siri. There is just always a place to look to find it out, instead of thinking and figuring it out.
B is for Brain
Lots of people don't use this, their brains in Fahrenheit 451. They have no use for it. Everything they want is right there. Entertainment, food, social interaction, this all makes them forget how to think.
C is for Clarisse McClellan
She is a very curious and mysterious girl that met Guy Montag. She was the person that made Guy start thinking. She is 17 and she is very anti social and has no friends. She is also very knowledgable from her old uncle.
D is for Dangerous
This society in Fahrenheit 451 considers people with books or knowledge dangerous. They think this way because they could upset somebody's peaceful life with rebellion. Also people with knowledge think, and they don't want you to think.
E is for Entertainment
People in this age are all about entertainment. Mildred Montag has a room with 3 walls covered with televisions. Also teens are doing some weird things for entertainment also, killing people. Quite the entertainment.
F is for Fire Fighter
Fire fighters don't put out house fires anymore. They intentionally burn houses to destroy illegal books inside the house. When Clarisse tells Guy that they used to put out house fires instead of start them, he didn't believe her.
G is for Guy
Guy Montag is the protagonist in "Fahrenheit 451". He is married to Mildred Montag and is struggling in his relationship with her. His job as a fireman is to burn books and the houses that hold them with kerosene.
H is for House
As a fire fighter, you don't put out house fires anymore. As a matter of fact there is no more house fires, on accident anyway. This is because of a covering around the house to prevent fires. As a fire fighter you burn houses that have books in them because they are illegal to have or read.
