Discussion -
This book is about a 12 year old boy named Lee Hargrove who's goal is to win a summer sports camp scholarship competition his school is holding, but his friend Cory is his biggest obstacle because he has a huge amount of luck. Lee isn't doing to well so far in the competition when one day after school he comes home to a package with an Eagles claw in it saying on the envelope "good luck charm" he doesn't use it at first but considers it since he isn't doing too well in the comp, the next day he gets all sorts of luck like finding free money and everything is pretty much going his way. He then uses it in the tennis match (included in the comp) when he's verging his friend Cory , he already played him before and lost but this is just a friendly game so he can see if the claw works. He wins the match straight sets and carries on using the claw. But next day he expiriences all sorts of bad luck and wonders why , he later remembers corys birthday party is tomorrow so he decides to sabotage him by giving him his bad luck claw, as he's at his party he completely ruins it by breaking everything and falling on the cake (Lee). And gets his parents called so he can go home. As lee is waiting for his mum to pick him up Cory calls him up to his room asking why did he give the claw to him. note - Cory has the same claw and already opened lees gift. Lee responds by telling him everything that's been happening, and so Cory asks him did he read the instructions for the claw when he got the envelope finding out why the all this bad luck has been happening ( from here on in is the ending).
Outline of characters
Cory - Very lucky and sporty and is very popular in school.
Lee - Very unlucky , quiet and not really popular at school. He's Also very sporty aswell.
Why you should read it -
- because it's very interesting and pretty suspenseful.
- the characters are pretty likable and interesting.
- the story is very good and has a huge twist at the end.
