Location
The Kiowa region is located in the Panhandle of Texas.
3.
Diet,Dwelling,and Lifestyle
The main food for the Kiowa tribe was buffalo.
They also traded with neighboring tribes for corn.
Other food they ate consisted of small animals, fruit and nuts.
Their dwellings were tepees made of buffalo hide.
Kiowa were warriors and hunters. They were nomads and very poor.

Kiowa Culture
The women were in charge of the home; the men were the hunters/warriors.
Their art consisted of Indian bead work and buffalo hide paintings.
This tribe was big in storytelling/they have lots of legends.
Religion - Kiowa gave respect to the sun and other natural forces.
They had ceremonies and dances to celebrate.

Interesting Facts
They fought to prove their courage, not destroy or take over territory.
Women wore deerskin dresses/men wore leather leggings.Both wore moccasins.
They did not wear feather war bonnets, they wore hats made of otter pelts.
They communicated with other tribes using Plains Sign Language.
They used dogs to help carry their goods from place to place.
