AGRICULTURAL ADJUSTMENT ADMINISTRATION

The AAA was established on May 10, 1933.

PURPOSE

• It's purpose was to help farmers.
• It reduced the amount of staple crops produced.
• Farmers were making too much and couldn't sell it all. They ended up losing a lot of money.
• Lowering the amount produced, also raised the price.

This act mainly affected farmers.

Although farmers were fond of the AAA it was soon declared unconstitutional. It was replaced with an act based on the conservation of soil.

WHY IT WAS DECLARED UNCONSTITUTIONAL

• It allowed the federal government to interfere with the running of state issues
