MIRROR- A REFLECTIVE SURFACE NOW TYPICALLY OF GLASS COATED WITH A METAL AMALGAM, THAT REFLECT A CLEAR IMAGE

There are three types of mirrors, plane, concave, and convex.

PLANE MIRROR

  • A flat type of mirror
  • Produces a clear virtual image
  • Most common type of mirror
  • Light gets reflected back to where it came

VIRTUAL IMAGE

IMAGE WHERE NO REAL OBJECT ACTUALLY IS

CONCAVE

  • Is bulged inward
  • All light that hits it gets reflected to the same spot
  • The spot the light goes to is the focal point

FOCAL LENGTH

DISTANCE BETWEEN THE MIRROR AND FOCAL POINT

CONVEX MIRROR

  • Bulges outward
  • Grabs light beside the mirror
  • Used to look around corners
  • Light reflects in all directions
