  • eat a flower/plant that makes you forget about home.

THE CYCLOPS

  • Odysseus and his men stop at an island because
  • Odysseus wants to see a cyclops in person. His
  • curiosity gets him and his men trapped in the cyclops'
  • cave.

THE ISLAND OF AEOLUS

  • Aeolus, god of winds, gives Odysseus a bag of bad winds to help them get home.
  • His crew disobeys orders and opens the bags.

Laesrtygonians

  • Odysseus and his men visit an island of giant canibals
  • who destroyed every ship but Odysseus' ship. Everyone on Odysseus' ship
  • survived.

island of circe

  • Odysseus' men get turned into pigs by the witch Circe,
  • so Odysseus defeats the witch and frees his men.

land of the dead

  • Odysseus goes to the land of the dead to talk to a dead
  • prophet.

ISLAND OF CIRCE

  • Odysseus goes back to the island of Circe and
  • receives a warning about the obstacles he will
  • face in the future.

SIRENS

  • The sirens' song attracts Odysseus' men toward them
  • so Odysseus puts beeswax into their ears so that
  • they couldn't hear them.

Scylla and Charybdis

  • Scylla and Charybdis are two sea monsters that Odysseus faces
  • on his journey back home.

  • Odysseus' men killed the sun god's cattle, so he prayed to Zeus
  • to kill them. Zeus destroyed their ship and all of Odysseus' menu.

CALYPSO'S ISLAND

  • Calypso holds Odysseus captive for 7 years.

The land of the Phaeacians

  • Odysseus tell the Phaeacians about his long journey home at a
  • feast.
