THE GOALIE

  • The goalie is the player who must make sure the ball doesnt go inside the goal
  • Also the most mentally and physically challenging position on the field
  • The goalie is also the eyes and ears of the team

THE GREATEST GOALIES OF HISTORY

  • David Seaman : was successful in the uefa Euro 96 for leading arsenal to a victory in the cup
  • Edwin Der Sar : won the champions league in 1995 and with man utd in 2008
  • Peter Shilton : played for over 30 years with the England national squad and played 125 games with them
  • Oliver Kahn : won the Euro cup in 1996 and alson won the golden ball for his great perfomance in the world cup with germany in 2002
  • Manuel Neuer : is known as the " Sweeper keeper" for his quick reflexes, excellent shot stopping skills, command of his area and accurate distribution of the ball

IS BEING GOALIE JUST STANDING THERE AND DOING?

  • To answer that question no there is a lot more than just standing there
  • Like i said before goalies must be always alert and never think that the ball is too far
  • And they cant kick that far Because trust me they can.
  • Goalies have a higher percentage of getting injured than the outfield players
  • One goalie got stepped on the head by a cleat and alomost died because tye injuries were too severe

GREATES SAVES OF ALL TIME

Every magnificent goalkeeper has had a magnificent save at one time lets take Gordon Banks for instance
It was the 1970 World Cup: England, the holders, up against Brazil, the hosts, in one of the all-time great games. Jairzinho bursts through, chips a cross to perfection onto the head of Pelé, who powerfully connects and...somehow, Banks saved it. Apparently the exchange between the players after the save was magnificent.

GOALIES SUMMARY

So in conclusion I first told you what a goalie was. Secondly I told you about the greatest goalies in history. I also told you about how being goalie isn't just standing there doing nothing and lastly I told you about the greatest saves of all time. To finish off I recommend everybody to try the position of the goalkeeper at least once trust me, it's fun
