COMPARE AND CONTRAST OF JEWISH AND JAPANESE CAMPS

WHY THE CAMPS STARTED

  • Internment camps started because Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.
  • The U.S government felt that it was necessary relocate Japanese Americans.
  • Concentration camps started because Hitler did not like Jewish people.

SPORTS THEY DID IN THE CAMPS

  • In the camps the Japanese played baseball and football.
  • Other high schools came to the camps to play a football game.
  • The jewish did not play any sports.
  • But the kids played games such as "Gas Chamber"

FOOD IN THE CAMPS

  • For breakfast the Jewish were given coffee
  • For lunch the Jewish were given watery soup
  • For Dinner the Jewish may have been given a small peice of bread or cheese
  • Many Jewish died from starvation
  • The Japanese were fed mostly potatoes and bread

HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE SENT TO THE CAMPS

  • 120,000 Japanese were sent to internment camps
  • 30,00 Jewish people were arrested amd sent to concentration camps

These 2 camps were horrible and hopefully the world uses these camps as an example so we don't repeat them.
