ALCOHOL

FIRST

Put on your goggles and gloves

SECOND

Take the graduated cylinder and pour the alcohol into it until it measures 25ml and then we take the graduated cylinder with the measured alcohol in it and carefully pour the alcohol into the beaker.

NEXT

With the thermometer record the temperature of the alcohol.

THIRD

Take the salt and pour it into another graduated cylinder until it measured 3ml and then poured that into the beaker with the alcohol.

FOURTH

Stir the salt and alcohol together inside the beaker for about 40 to 30 seconds.

FITH

retake the temperature of the alcohol but this time after you place the salt inside and stirred it. And notice if there is any temperature change.

SIXTH

Look for any other possible signs of chemical change like bubbles of gas appear, if precipitate forms, if a color change occurs, or if a change in smell occurs. Make sure to include if there was any temperature change.
