  • Personal information is discarded and thieves
  • Remove it from trash.

HACKING

  • Information is stolen by breaking into
  • Your computer system.

WHAT TO DO IF IT HAPPENS TO YOU

  • Act immediately
  • Keep a record of correspondence and phone records
  • Follow up all communications via mail
  • Contact 3 major credit bureaus and request a free fraud alert.
  • Close all accounts tampered with. And call the police.

HOW TO AVOID GETTING IT STOLEN.

  • Only carry necessary items, memorize your PIN number
  • Check statements regularly.
  • Cut up pre approved credit cards that are not used
  • Make sure a website you use is secure
  • Check your credit report twice a year.
