I is for Imagination

Many people of the modern day society are brainwashed to conform. This allows for no individuality and no thinking. No thinking means no imagination so they have no creativity.

J is for Joy

Montag asks Faber how so much joy could be found in a book. Mildred often gets her joy from the parlor walls. She just wants happiness and joy.

K is for Kerosene

Fireman burn down houses when people are convicted guilty of having books. To do so, they pour the flammable liquid onto the houses and light them ablaze. Many of the characters can be compared to kerosene. All they need is a lit match to start their fire.

L is for Laziness

People of the new society have almost everything handed to them. Happiness, entertainment, and information. They don't have much thought for themselves and are extremely lazy.

M is for Mildred

Mildred is the wife of Guy Montag. She is very brainwashed by television and likes the simplicity of conforming. She often is watching television in the parlor, and escaping with her sleep pills at night.

N is for NoLife

Humans at this point are almost zombies. They are brainwashed and can't find happiness without doing it the simple way. They aren't even living almost, they just walk around nearly dead from being obsessive over parlors and simple joy.

O is for Optimism

Many people no longer think big. All optimism has vanished. People think about their parlor or simple instant gratitude.

P is for Pills

Mildred often becomes upset with her life and craves an escape. The pills put her to sleep and sometimes near death. They allow her to slip away when she has had a hard day of watching the parlor walls and speaking with Montag.

Q is for Quarrel

Many small arguments happen. Whether it's Montag and Beatty, or Mildred and Montag. Even if the arguments are small, they can play a large part.
