  • Nealy 2 million children were evacuated.
  • 'Operation pied piper' planned to move 3.5 million children in three days.

  • Children accounted for one in ten of the deaths during the blitz of london 1940-41
  • At school children learned about the british empire now the commonwealth.
  • Most of the children left school at the age of 14 and started work.
  • World war two was the first war Britain itself was the target of frequent attacks by the enemy.
