ASSUMPTION CHAPEL

  • Located in Cold Spring
  • Built in 1877 costing $865
  • Built in "honor of the mother god" or Mary
  • Was built during the grasshopper plague, after it was finished being build the grasshoppers disappeared
  • It holds mass in May and June on Thursdays and an annual mass August 15th
  • Father Winter had this idea to build and got parishioners on board.
  • The parishioners got 7 acres donated by farmers

TEMPLE ISREAL

  • Founded in 1878
  • 2012 over 2,000 families belonged to the church
  • This is one of the largest Jewish congregations in then US
  • Located on west 24th street a and Emerson ave South in downtown Minneapolis
  • Made out of stone
  • The 1st Jewish temple in Minnesota

  • The architect was from Iran and his name was Fariborz Sahba
  • The terraces represent the 1st 18 disciples of báb
  • They serve as a shrine to the bahá í faith
