Start of class routine

• Enter quietly.
• Take assigned seat.
• Have all materials out and ready.
• Begin Bell Work.
• Make sure backpack is out of the way.

class agenda

• Written on Board

Bell Work

• You will have Bell Work every day.
• Begin as soon as you enter class.
• It is written on the board.

Dismissal

• Wait until I dismiss you.
• Is desk area clean?
• Is desk in the correct place?
• Do you have all of your belongings?

seating arrangement

• You will have assigned seats.
• If behavior is good, you may get to choose.
• You will sit in groups of four.
• Each group will have a number and color.

tardiness

• Do not interrupt class when tardy.
• Take your seat immediately.
• Give me excuse after I have finished teaching.
• After six times, visit the Dean (warning).
• After eight times, visit the Dean (ISS).

absences - missed work

• Let me know about absence, if possible.
• See me as soon as you return.
• You  have number of days absent to make up work.

Handing out/passing in work

• I will call a color.
• Each color will pick up or hand out work.
• It will change each time.

turning in work

• Place in appropriate basket (class period).
• Do not place unfinished work in basket.
• Keep up with your own unfinished work.

using classroom supplies

• Pencil Cups
• Supplies on Bookshelf
• Microwave - before lunch, with permission

Trash and recycling

• Throw away all trash.
• Walk to trash can to throw away.
• Use recycle bins for paper.

finishing work early

• You should have a book with you at all times!
• Read AR books during free time.

emergency drills

• Designee will turn off lights and close door.
• Walk in orderly fashion to safe area.
• Listen up for roll call.

Class discussion

• Must raise your hand to speak.
• Do not interrupt others.
• No rude or insensitive comments.

Electronics

• Only use electronics with permission.
• ASK FIRST!

food and drink

• Not allowed.
• Occasionally you may use with permission.

leaving class

• Use appropriate hall pass.
• Handle business before class.
• May not use bathroom unless it's an emergency.
• May not leave during instruction.

discipline

• First Green Slip - Warning
• Second Green Slip - Call Parent
• Third Green Slip - Visit the Dean
• Extreme Misbehavior - Visit the Dean

failing my class

• Must alert parent if you fall below 70%.
• Must turn in RTI form to principal.

classroom visitors

• Do not yell out or call attention to visitor.
• I will talk with visitor.
• Please be on your best behavior.

substitute

• Treat substitute with respect.
• I will leave notes for the substitute.
• Designee for each class.

visiting school library

• Only two students at a time.
• Do not waste time or disrupt students.
• Go to library quietly when we visit.

Accelerated reader

• Pre-AP Goal - 30 points
• Regular Goal - 25 points
• 100 point grade for percentage of goal
• 100 point grade for comprehension

book club

• I will read a book during lunch.
• You may listen and eat lunch.
• Will read for about 15 minutes.
• Will review AR quiz after reading.

checking out books

• You may borrow my books at any time.
• Please return in good condition.
