  • They could not beat them in war
  • Led to fall because of conflicts in and outside of rome

  • Could not be controlled
  • Used all their money on war, so they could not keep up with the large empire

  • Lost a lot of people to tend the land
  • Had less soldiers so they had to pay untrustworthy people to fight
  • This led to economic issues
