Jackie Robinson was traded to the New York Gaints.

Retire

Jackie retires from Major League Baseball in 1956.

After Jackie left they retired number 42 as well.

Jackie is a vocal supporter for Martin Luther King.

Jackie was the first black to be in the Hall of Fame.

DEATH ON OCT. 24, 1972

He died of a heart attack, age 53, in Stamford, Connecticut.
