- Definition: A large natural stream of water flowing in a channel to the sea, a lake, or another such stream

- Definition: A large natural elevation of the earth's surface rising abruptly from the surrounding level, a large steep hill

- Definition: A narrow passage of water connecting two seas or two large areas of water
- Example: Bering Straight (Connects Arctic ocean to Pacific ocean)

- Definition: A piece of land almost surrounded by water or projecting out into a body of water
- Example: Florida

ISTHMUS
- Definition: A narrow strip of land with sea on either side forming a link between two larger areas of land
- Example: Isthmus of Chignecto links Nova Scotia to North America and Canada
ARCHIPELAGO
- Definition: A sea or stretch of water containing many islands
- Example: New Zealand
