Why New Caledonian's speak French:

New Caledonia being part of French Republic, it's official language is French, following the law 92-554 (June 1992).
The thirty New Caledonian languages from a branch of Southern Oceanic languages. Their speakers are called Kanaks.

CURRENCY DIFFRENCE BETWEEN AUSTRALIA AND NEW CALIDONIA

  • New Caledonia's money is called CFP (XPF) franc
  • A $1 AUD = F 73.82 XPF
  • CFP stands for Change Franc Pacifique.
  • The code XPF and it is pegged to the Euro at 1 EUR = 119.3317 XPF
