  • By: Sarah Charles

QUILLS

  • The cape porcupine has quills
  • that go down its back. They use
  • the spikes to make themselves
  • seem bigger in the presence of
  • larger animals.

CLAWS

  • The claws on the cape porcupine
  • make it easier for them to dig
  • and walk on a difficult terrain.

SHORT AND SMALL

  • The height and length of the
  • cape porcupine makes it easy
  • for them to hide in small places.

DARK FUR

  • The cape porcupine's dark fur
  • helps it hide in the shadows of
  • rocks, trees, and other large
  • objects. It is used as camouflage.

EYESIGHT

  • The cape porcupine is nocturnal,
  • and with that, it has to have good
  • eyesight in the dark. The porcupine
  • uses it's eyesight in the dark to
  • navigate the place it is in.
