PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The symbols associated with Artemis are the moon and a bow and arrow. The moon represents her connection with nature. The bow and arrow exhibit her exemplary hunting skills.
A story of Artemis starts off with the queen of Thebes, Niobe, who claimed that she was better than Leto, Artemis's mother, because she had many children, and Leto only had two. Artemis and her twin brother Apollo avenged the insult to their mother by killing most of Niobe's children with their arrows. Finally Niobe was transformed to stone in a permanent weeping position.
At one point, in the comics of "Wonder Woman", Artemis was featured with a bow and arrow, similar to her use of killing with arrow in the story when she kills Niobe's children.
