DEMOCRACY

A system of government by the whole population or all the eligible memos of a state, typically through elected representatives. The United States is currently a democracy.

LIBERTY

The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior or political view. The government allow people to believe what they want, they give the people "liberty".



FREEDOM

The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. America is built on the belief that each person deserves to have FREEDOM.

BRAVE

Ready to face and endure danger or pain; showing courage. The men and women fighting for our country are brave. They deserve the support of the citizens.

Miley Ray Cyrus is an American actress and pop singer. She rose to fame for her role as Miley Stewart aka Hannah Montana on the Disney sitcom Hannah Montana. She is a symbol because of her work in the pop culture. She is a world wide sensation.

BALD EAGLE

A white-headed North American eagle that includes fish among its pray. Now most common in Alaska, it is the national emblem of the United States.

PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

"Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" is one of the most famous phrases in the United States Declaration of Independence. The right to pursuit of happiness basically means any basic right or freedom to which all human beings are entitled and in which exercise a government may not interfere (including rights to life and liberty as well as freedom of thoughts and expression and equality before the law).

"IN GOD WE TRUST"

"In god we trust" is the official motto of the United States. It was adopted in 1956. Its meaning resides that trust that somebody has in one individual.

PATRIOTIC

Having or expressing devolution to and vigorous support for one' country. For example, on the Fourth of July everyone wears red, white, and blue to show support to the country.

MELTING POT

A country, locality, or situation in which a blending of races, people's, or cultures is taking place. The United States have been referred to A a melting pot because of all the different cultures that they have.

Relating to or believing in religion. Each person has a right to believe in whatever God they want in America.

MOUNT RUSHMORE

Rushmore: a mountain in the Black Hills of South Dakota; the likeness of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt are carved into it. It is a symbol of hope for the people.

The action of providing or being provided with amusement or enjoyment. The United States ha entertainment in all different kinds and shapes. Vegas, Hollywood, Denver you name it! These cities provide hours of fun for people of all ages to enjoy.

Good Morning America is a television program that informs the people of current events in the world today. They talk bout trends, problems, and just smile worthy stories.

HARDWORKING

(Of a person) tending to work with energy and commitment. A majority of the people in The United States of America.

BEAUTIFUL

Pleasing the senses or mind aesthetically. The land is beautiful. It can be mountains, valleys, or oceans. But for sure it going to take your breath away.

WEALTHY

Having a great deal of money, resources, or assets; rich. Many people in America are considered wealthy. They work for what they get.

STRONG

Able to withstand great force or pressure. America is a strong country because we stick together in times of tragedy and peace.

UNITED

Joined together politically, for a common purpose, or by common feelings. The UNITED states is most definitely united. It even says it in our name!

MOVIES

A story or event recorded by a camera as a set of moving images and shown in a theater or television; a motion picture. America is known for our movie making industry. It is a great way to socialize with friends and family.

AMBITIOUS

Having or showing a strong desire and determination to succeed. The US government has high ambition to make the states a great place to live.

COMPASSIONATE

Feeling or showing sympathy and concern for others. Compassion is a trait many Americans have.

DIVERSE

Showing a great deal of variety; very different. The United States has many different races, cultures, and religions. Everyone is allowed to practice whatever they desire. It is in the first Amendment.

AMERICAN FLAG

The national flag of the United States of America.

Hopeful and confident about the future. America is excited for what we have in store to improve the economy and just overall make this a better place to live.

STAR-SPANGLED BANNER

A poem written by Francis Scott Key during the War of 1812. It was set to music and then adopted by Congress in 1931.

NATURE

The phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth, as opposed to human s or human creations. It is important to the US that we save all of our national parks and such, so they can be enjoyed by the people.

IOWA

A state in the central United States: a part of the Midwest. 56,290 sq. miles. The capital isDes Moines. Abbreviation: IA. Great place to raise a family and farm.

NORTHEAST IOWA

It is located in northeast Iowa. Full of valley, rivers, and farmland. Is currently where you are standing now, so if you want a really good definition just look outside!
