When Francesco was fifteen years old, he was admitted to the novitiate of the Capuchin Order.
At the age of twenty-three, Padre Pio was ordained to the priesthood.

ABOUT HIS LIFE
Padre Pio suffered from poor health his entire life.His health had been declining from the time he was nine years old.
At the age of five, he dedicated his life to God. From then on he became more dedicated to god as he grew up.
ST PADRES CHILDHOOD
Saint Padre Pio May, 1887 – September, 1968 was canonized on June 16, 2002, by the Roman Catholic Church. He is the only priest known to have received the full stigmata.
ONE OF ST PADRES MIRACLES
Once in the monastery of Padre Pio, a friar forgot to consecrate the Hosts for Holy Communion. There were only a few Hosts available. But after confessions when Padre Pio started to distribute Hosts to the people, many Hosts remained at the end of the service more than had been consecrated before.
