4 NERVOUS SYSTEM DISORDERS:

  • spina bifida.
  • anencephaly.
  • traumatic brain injury.
  • cerebral palsi.

SPINA BIFIDA

  • The incompletion of the spinal cord, or it's coverings.
  • Cause might be from genes or a high fever during pregnancy.
  • Symptoms depend on the severity of of the disease.

ANENCEPHALY

  • Absence of a large part of the brain and skull.
  • Cause is unknown. Possible causes are environmental toxins,
  • And low intake of folic acid by the mother during pregnancy.
  • Symptoms: absence of skull, absence of brain, facial abnormalities,
  • And heart defects.

traumatic brain injury

  • Known as intracranial injury.
  • Occurs when an external force traumatically injures the brain.
  • Symptoms depend of severity.
  • Can involve damage to other structures, such as the scalp and skull.
  • TBI is a major cause of death and disability worldwide.

cerebral palsy

  • Group of disorders that can involve brain and nervous system functions.
  • Cerebral palsy is caused by injuries or abnormalities of the brain.
  • Symptoms may be different between people.
  • Symptoms may: be mild or severe, only involve one or both sides of the body,
  • May be worse in either the arms or the legs, or maybe both are involved.
