Mission Statement

  • To be an instrument of peace for families 
  • To collaborate with existing groups
  • To create an information & connection center 
  • To serve with passion and compassion
  • To create a community that supports itself
• To offer enrichment, education and support through a unique collaborative model of service and care, serving in both English and Spanish
• To facilitate the development of a rich family life for all.
• To provide the highest quality resources for parent education, children’s play, and family enrichment in both English and Spanish.
• To educate the public about the importance of enrichment for all families.
• To connect individuals and families with the best available support services and programs.
• To maintain a reading center and library open to all families.
• To offer programs in-house on a regular basis, including daytime, evening, and weekends.
• To bring educational resources to other locations in order to widen our reach: schools, churches, community centers, clubs, organizations, businesses, individuals.
• To provide enrichment opportunities across the family life cycle: young families, families with teenagers, those with aging parents, those with empty nests, and also for families with special needs children.
• To encourage collaboration among individuals and groups for the good of all.
• To access funding from a combination of individuals, fundraising, private corporations, grants, fees, and a pay-it-forward model from those receiving services.

• Opened Growing Peaceful Families Enrichment and Education Resources for Parents and Teachers in 2007
• Parent of 3 children ages 23, 22 and 18

• Parent Educator for Parents' Place in Lexington
• ESL teacher, interpreter and parenting educator in Fayette County Public School for 13 years
• Mother of two grown sons

• Earned a BA in Social Work from Colorado State University
