"Just another young, volunteer, stupid soldier camped out in a trench on the Western front... When I was younger, I never thought that I would spend the teenage years of my life in this calvary, lol. I always dreamt of being a midwife, you know? Or a doctor, though, as a female, it would not be appropriate to have such a position. Regardless, healing the sick mattered to me, not forming the wounds. Bringing life into the world, not death. *sigh* -Maya
"Okay- allow me to clear things up a bit. A lot of y'all were confused by my last tweet about being a volunteer soldier despite wanting to be a doctor. Please keep in mind that my dreams of health and medicine were LONG ago, before I was even old enough to grasp the concept of war. As I older, reality kicked in. While I was blessed enough to become literate, my parents never could afford schooling. My family run a small farm. War and destruction remains a big threat to our crops and the future of our family. Essentially, what I am trying to say, is that despite the fact that I don't WANT to hurt others, I have no choice but to protect the family name and future. " -Maya
"Good news and bad news. Bad news: We just fought yesterday, and the Germans did not get defeated. Good news: We did not get defeated or pushed back either. But nobody is celebrating. Nobody is laughing. Nobody is smiling in relief that they are alive. Because half of everyone is dead. The one whom I yelled at for spilling slop on me, the one who hated me for my continuous Wifi hogging. What can I say- Im always on twitter and use up all the data connection! So many more died too. War is not the grim melody of a tune I expected. It is so. much. worse. ." -Name of reviewer
