FOOD

• The somalis have alot of types of foods
• They eat mostly food with meat
• Theyhowever are forbidden from eating some types of food
• They are forbidden from eating pork or anything that is connected to a pig
• They eat sambusa, anjela, ambuulo etc

Adapted food
The Italians had colonized the Somalis which brought adaptation of some types of food. Such foods include rice, macaroni,and pasta

RELIGION

• A research team found out that 100% of somalis are muslim
• Somalis believe the teachings of prophet Muhammed(PBUH)
• Islam prevents the eating of pork, thats why they don't eat pork
• They believe In One God pray five times in a day, give money to the poor.
• They also fast the month of ramadhan, and go for pilgrimage

Muslim girls have to wear hijab(if you were wondering, it is the thing that hangs on their head

HOLIDAYS

• There are so many holidays for the somalis based on their religion
• Friday is one weekly holiday. This is like their sunday
• They don't have to work on fridays. So all they do is rest and go to the mosque
• They also have eids. These comes twice a year.
• Eids are a moment of happinnes. There are eid el fitr and eid al Aduha

MARRIAGE

• Somalis can get married at the age of 15
• The man pays for the dowry to the girls family
• Adultery and sex before marriage is illegal
• Whoever commits this sins is stoned to death
• Polygamy is allowed in marriage. A man can marry up to four women

FUNERAL/DEATH

• Someone has to be prayed on after he dies
• A white piece of cloth is wraped on the person then burried
• We believe that, after someone is burried, he/she goes to either paradise or hell fire
• His relatives have to pray after he leaves the world
