In 1765 a group of colonists who called themselves the Loyal Nine started a protest against the stamp act.As the group got bigger, they became the Sons of Liberty
Their first protest was to go against the stamp act. The Sons of Liberty harassed the some of the tax distributors who worked for the government into quitting their jobs. They protested on the street, more times, then the tax was finally stopped.
