  • Miss Brill spends her Sunday afternoon in the park like usual
  • There are more people than last Sunday

  • external conflict: Miss Brill vs. the two young people

symbolism

  • fur- represents Miss Brill as she lives in a small dark room

  •  cake represents a bit of enjoyment in an otherwise uneventful and pitiful existence.
