mostly propaganda, influence and satire based conflicts
"cold" attitudes toward the other, such as insults and indirect oppositon
Nuclear warfare became possible, making war a harder decision

Capitalism was a free economy, but varied between countries
Capitalism had less government influence and more of a free economy
Capitalism also usually gained more income and increased markets compared to communist
Communism was heavily government based, they told them how to do everything
Communism disliked the idea of lots of private property and made what was needed

FOREIGN POLICIES
The u.s passed a bill to limit the expansion of communism and contain it
Soviets saw this is an attempt to weaken then and become stronger
Soviets now responded by working to spread communism through economic assistance
Soviets sought to be equal while the u.s wanted to keep the soviets down and under control
The soviets were generally angered by the act and wished the spread communism

KITCHEN DEBATE
The u.s made a museum that showed a standard u.s home
Nixon opens it, but Khrushchev insults the many kitchen gadgets as too exclusive
Nixon debates that these tools are common for Americans and that women shouldn't work in kitchens
He leads on to saying the women keep families together not slaving at meals
He declares this to be a strong point of the capitalist u.s and they get into a heated argument
