It's the worlds largest hydropower project and most notorious dam. The Three Gorges Dam is a model for disaster, yet Chinese companies are replicating this model both domestically and internationally within China.

Positive effects: it will provide energy for millions of Chinese. The Three Gorges Dam, a project of great weight to Chinese nation,has been completed and so far begun to bring benefits to Chinese people. In mainly for aspects; flood control, power generation, navigation and tourism

Negative effects: Worth billions of dollars and will take years to build. The project has been plagued by corruption, spiraling costs, environmental impacts, human rights violations, and resettlement difficulties

The dam is located in the middle of the three gorges on the Yangtze River, the third longest in the world, in the Huber Province of China.The $25 billion project is being internationally funded by companies, export credit agencies, and banks from Canada, Switzerland, Germany, France, Sweden, and Brazil
