Cell phones and headphones

  • Cell phones & headphones should be left in your lockers.
  • We do NOT want to see your phones, or headphones!


On days you may need your phone to use as a stopwatch, or calculator--your teacher will inform you the day before!

silent reading

  • You are to have a school appropriate silent reading book, or magazine with you at all times that you can read if you finish your work early.

  • Every Wednesday, in your study hall, you will be reading for the first 20 minutes--no exceptions, or excuses (minors will be issued for non-compliance)!

  • Do NOT give out your locker combo to anyone!
  • Do NOT share lockers with anyone else!

  • As an 8th grader, you are a leader here at school & your teachers hold you to a very high standard for your behavior & academics.

  • Your grades and the number of minors (and majors) DO affect whether or not you walk in May--always do your best!

late work policy

  • Late work is accepted.
  • Work turned in within 2 days of the due date will have a 25% deduction on your EARNED grade.

  • Work turned in after 2 days, will be accepted until the end of the unit with a 50% grade deduction of your EARNED grade.

ALL late work needs a "late slip" attached to it & filled out completely. Work not filled out correctly will be returned & not accepted until turned in correctly.

working lunches

  • If you do not turn in an assignment on time, you have the option to stay in at lunch to finish it without a late penalty.

If you choose this option, there is a "Working Lunch" slip that must be filled out, brought to lunch as your pass, & attached to the assignment upon completion.

ID'S and LANYARDS

  • ID's must be worn at ALL times!
  • ID must be visible at ALL times!

Temp id's

  • If you forget your ID at home, it's your responsibility to get a temp ID from your homeroom teacher during homeroom!
  • Minors will be issued for non-compliance.

Hall Pass punch card

  • You will be issued a "Hall Pass Punch Card" each trimester.
  • These are to be kept in your ID case with your ID.

  • If you lose this, it will NOT be replaced!
  • Tiger Tails will be awarded at the end of each trimester for unused punches.

plagiarism

  • NEVER, ever share your work, copy another student's work, or plagiarize someone else's writing.

clubs and sports

  • Be sure to sign-up on-line!
  • Get your physicals! No physical, no sports!
  • Pay your sports fees!

  • Keep those grades up! 2 D's, or 1 F=ineligible.

  • You're responsible for purposely vandalizing, or destroying school property (lockers, computers, etc.).

  • Be sure to fill out the tan sheet giving you permission to walk/ride/be picked up to the office.
  • Without this on file, you take the bus home!

  • If you know when you'll be absent, please tell your teachers!
  • You're responsible for getting the work you missed.

  • Please note: on any day you're gone, your homework is still due & needs to be turned in!
  • Be sure to get your work, too!

  • You're considered tardy when you are not in your ASSIGNED seat when the bell rings.

  • Every midterm & trimester, students can apply for a PBIS lanyard.
  • Each teacher has applications for those who are interested!
