How it went down!
The Americans opened fire on the natives and forced them to flee to the mounted soldiers. Killing 86 natives. 70 women and children were captured. They continued to loot and burn tipis. 27 U.S. soldiers killed.

Effects of the War
The rest of the Sioux and Northern Cheyenne in the vicinity manage to avoid the troops. They crossed the Missouri River and stayed in Sioux county and have had no further problems for decades.

  • This was one of the first battle between the whites and native americans
