PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The writer of this article Olaf Tyaransen has jumped on a ryanair flight with U2 to Germany and in this article they talk about their new album "Songs of innocence", marriage and the new iphone 6 and itunes.
Firstly Tyaransen talks to each member individually about the new album and the songs that were written and what inspired them to make new music. then he talks about how they band have grown throughout their careers. he also mentions family life and how the bands members wives and kids cope with them being gone while on tour and the places they have travelled. Tyaransen also names his articles title with a pun "High Flying Words" which is literally what is happening as the interview took place on a plane to Germany and this helps the audience get to know the band more through the article.
The images used in this article are all black and white and this effect suits the bands persona and makes them look professional and sophisticated towards the audience. the images also help the audience visualize the band and see what they are really like. this helps the audience get to know the band members more as they read the article. the articles interview is seven columns which shows the audience that this band has a lot to talk about and what a success they really are. the pages are decorated with a number of splashes and smudges around the article which shows the creative side to the magazine.
The House Style of the magazine is evident in the bar along the bottom of the page which features the hot press logo and page numbers. The colours throughout the images and article fad into house style and make the double pages spread look eye catching to the reader. The image used on this page also engages the audience as it shows the bands first hot press cover from 1977 which makes the audience want to read the article and see how much they have changed and come along since then.there are seven long columns in this page which talks about U2 members children, the album itself and the recession in Ireland. this makes the audience want to read through the article and find out the reasons for these subjects and the band give such detailed answers as the text on these pages take up 95% of the page which are the answers the band have given.
There is a drop cap at the start of the article and some pull quotes on the next few pages which makes the audience want to read the article in order to hear the story behind these quotes. The layout of this article follows the Golden section where the audiences eyes start at the bottom left hand side of the page and go around in a circle and end up in the middle of the page.
